23rd September, 1947.

The Acting Governor of Singapore,

Mr. P.A.B. McKerron, has now replied to our telegram. He is arranging accommodation for McLeavy and yourself, and I am sure both he, and the Governor,

Sir Franklin Gimson, who will have returned from leave when you arrive, will do all they can to make your stay as worth while as possible. I think it can be left to the Governor to arrange introductions, etc., and 1 will merely add my personal good wishes and hope that your stay in Singapore will prove both interesting and enjoyable.

As I was in Malaya myself a few months ago,

If you may care to have a talk with me before you go. you would like to do so, I shall be glad to see you at any mutually convenient time.

i am sending a copy of this letter to the House, in case you call there first on your return from Guernsey.

James Earrison, Esq., M.P.

Yours sincerely,

(SGD.) IVOK THOMAS.
